Food food food
But I still finished it considering the efforts that I've thrown in; from buying the ingredients to turning them into a pot of soup.
Crispy chicken ribs with creamy corn on rice at Rose Garden. This is one of the best rice dishes that I had in Melbourne =)
Pork ribs served with chips and a bowl of salad at Universal, Lygon St. The sauce is juicy and tasty while the meat are tender and chewy. Love it!
Hainanese chicken rice at Taste of Asia. One of the best chicken rice I had. You should try the one at the Malaysian Restaurant called "Kota Raya" at Clayton. Their chicken rice is the best one!
Delicious big breakfast along Flinders Lane with my sister.
My favourite cappucino =)
My sister's hot chocolate.
The refreshing and soothing lemon lime bitters. Perfect drink for summer!
These food pictures made me so hungry now -_______-
I need to off to sleep to cure it =)

Christmas shopping
Because I didn't even make it !!!!
So yesterday, I was planning to do grocery shopping mainly to buy the ingredients to make yuk gae jang.
But ending up shopping at melbourne central -_______-
Because it was raining and I was not bothered to bring the grocery all the way back from city to my place under the rain.
I dunno if it is a girl's nature but I found shopping do release my stress and boost my self-esteem. But then, it will definitely burn a hole in my pocket because almost everything in the shops were on sale and I was so tempted to buy them.
The things I bought to pamper myself =) With my own money of course. lol. Remember I had more work shifts in December? =p =p
1. DAWN Sarah Jessica Parker perfume for only $29.95 (original price $69.95). I love the light and refreshing perfume smell. I've been eyeing on it since months ago and finally it was on sale. So I straight away grabbed it =)
2. Pearl Creamy Under Eye Pencil - $8.95
3. Darkness False Eyelashes - $5.50
4. Silver and black eyeshadow - $15.00
5. Eyelashes gel - $8.50
6. Heart shaped necklace (Diva) - $17.50
After the shopping session, I went to catch a movie. Movie of the night .......
Avatar
This movie has very good reviews and everyone is talking about it.
I couldn't agree more. It was indeed very interesting and extraordinary. The graphic scenes and sound system were excellent and breath-taking. However, it was long and quite draggy. I'm much preferred if the movie was kept within the normal 90 minutes long.
Oh, some parts of the scenes were similar to Transformers. There were robots trying to destroy the aliens' forest. Can't blame because it is the same director of Transformer who made this movie.

안녕하세요 !!
There are different types of korean recipes in the website and it contains videos that teach you how to cook korean foods.
OMG I'm always a fan of korean foods and wanted to learn to make korean dishes since ages ago. Now I can make my own version of korean foods, I don't have to spend my money eating at korean restaurant which actually costs more -___- 1 small yuk gae jang for $15 -______-"
*Happy* I'm gonna make my favourite yuk gae jang (beef and vege soup) tomorrow! Can't wait already =)

dang dang dang dang!! the mouth-watering yuk gae jang !!!
Eyes issue
As time went by, more and more colourful shapes of spectacles being offered in the market. I remember the gold one was once popular and I had like 2 pair of gold glasses when I was in primary 5 or 6. And then, from the frameless one to thicker frame with different shades of colours.
This is my new purple-framed glasses which I wear when I go out. I know it's thick -____-
This is my other browny-bronze glasses which I wear in the house. Oh, I wear it for 3 years already, and it is still in good condition. *loves*
Apart from glasses, contact lens has also evolved. It has became very common nowadays. I had my first contact lens in year 2003. I wore monthly disposable clear contact lens. After wearing for several years, I stopped wearing them because I thought it was so troublesome having to put the lens into my dry eyes every morning
Then again, I started to feel like wearing coloured contact lens now so that my eyes will look larger and brighter. My single-eye lid makes my already small asian eyes looked even smaller. I couldn't wait till my sister comes back next year to bring me the coloured contact lens. So yesterday, I went to shop for coloured contact lens. I stopped by this stall at melb central selling Geo coloured lens. They are so expensive, around $84 for a pair. So damn expensive lor. I rather buy an Ipod shuffle with that price.
So I went home and decided to buy online. I went to this website called Clear Contacts, specialising in contact lens. I decided to buy daily lens because I don't wear contact lens everyday, only occasionally. The prices for the lens are reasonable and I've placed an order for 2 boxes of 1 Day Acuvue Define Vivid. 1 box with 30 lens for only $49.95 and because I have different power for both of my eyes, so I have to order 2 boxes. Basically, 1 Day Acuvue Define Vivid lens has a dark brown ring with soft brown spokes that defines the natural pattern of the iris that can make your eyes appear larger and vibrant.
This is how it works.

Before and after....
I am now waiting for them to be delivered to my house. I should be able to receive them tomorrow. I hope my eyes will look stunning with the lens =)

As I grew older, my short-sightedness became worse. From -1.5 at the age of 9 until -9.0 now. I am worried that I might go blind one day. Sigh.. I have thought of going for lasik surgery but then, I was not brave enough and also I wasn't sure which optometrist could perform the best lasik on me.
Hmm...
Oh ...before I forget, Merry Christmas to everyone out there =D
Have a great one!

How Do I Get Employers to Notice My Resume and Call Me?
Jen is a new graduate who has posted her resume on various online job boards.
"Unfortunately," she wrote, "I have rarely been called back from a site that I have posted my resume on. What do I need to do in order to get employers to notice my resume so that I get called back?"
Since this seems to be a hot topic, I've added a few more tips for Jen and anyone else who's wondering the same thing.
Actively Pursue the Jobs
- Posting your resume for public viewing on web sites like Monster.com or CareerBuilder.com is a good first step, but it's a passive method of job searching. You have no power over whether anyone ever reads your resume or chooses to call you after reading it.
- Only IF an employer uses those sites for recruiting, and only IF your qualifications match their keywords, and only IF they read your resume and decide it sounds like a good fit will you ever get a call. That's a lot of ifs.
- In addition, a resume posted online is, by nature, a one-size-fits-all resume, not targeted to the specific needs of a particular employer.
- So leave the resume online, because you never know. But meanwhile, make your job search active, and take the power back into YOUR hands.
Check ALL the Job Boards at Once
- Go to a site such as Indeed.com or Simplyhired.com, which are job board "aggregators," meaning they search ALL the job sites for you (including Monster, CareerBuilder, company web sites, local newspapers, etc.).
- Select the keywords that are likely to be in the title or job description of your desired position, and do a search. You can narrow the search by zip code and other criteria.
- You can even save your search criteria and set up a job search agent that will keep checking these sites for you daily or weekly, and e-mail you any matches. But again, keep it active. If you're not getting good results, try different keywords or expand your search area.
Tailor Each Application to the Employer
- When you find a job that interests you, edit your resume and cover letter so they address exact keywords and phrases you found in the job description.
- For example, let's say they're looking for a "Senior Office Manager" and your resume shows you're a "Senior administrator responsible for office management." Those mean the same thing, but you'll have better luck if you edit your resume to match the employer's terminology.
- You need to do that each and every time you apply for a specific job. So you'll have one "basic" resume and cover letter, but you'll tweak them for every employer. You may end up with 20 or more versions, each slightly different. It's a pain, but it's necessary.
A little update
I find it hard to write up a good resume and cover letter that can impress employers. I guess that's because my written English is not professional enough?
While I was surfing the internet searching for more job information, I came across this website, careerone.com.au that provides tips which I think is useful in drafting my resume.
I'm going to copy and paste it here for my reference.
A resume is a marketing document that sells a product, in this case, the school leaver and so it is important that it includes skills, attributes and strengths as well as previous experience that will appeal to a future employer.
Melbourne based careers expert Warren Frehse has some helpful tips to kick off with.
"A resume should definitely have a full name, address and contact number usually a mobile so that the person can be traced fast and an email address."
Frehse suggests including a personal profile that should detail who the person is and all the best points, qualities and experience that would make them appeal to an employer even without any work experience.
"People under estimate what an employer wants to see. People tend to say 'I haven't done anything' when they have acquired important skills and experience through volunteer work or sporting clubs or profitable hobbies," he said.
"Employers are also interested in the qualities of people. Counting cash at the footie club shows you're trustworthy and honest and would be good experience for retail."
Frehse recommends including a concise list of competencies under a 'Skills' heading.
"Bring up skills such as writing minutes, allocating tasks or correspondence you had to undertake for a club or group."
Beneath an 'Education' title include the dates you started and finished school as well as the names of the schools you attended. Make sure you put down any important exams or subjects you have taken and awards you may have received.
Document your extra curricular activities and hobbies. Whether you were a member of a school team, part of an acting group or in the orchestra it is all evidence of being able to work as part of a team or your creativity, dedication and reliability.
List any work experience including jobs like babysitting or newspaper rounds and any community work, volunteer work or club involvement. With bullet points highlight what the position entailed and what was learned or gained from doing it.
According to Frehse "employers want to see examples of leadership or where you have taken initiative by changing something for example putting all the trophies up at the sports club."
Referees should be the last thing on the resume and should be listed with switchboard numbers rather than mobile numbers. If they are not from another part time job they will be "personal" referees.
"People you know well in the community, someone who can assess your character," advises Frehse.
Finally make sure the resume is no longer than two pages, does not contain a stupid email address that might put off an employer and most importantly there are no spelling mistakes.
I really hope I can get a job by January. Dear, God please give me at least a chance to get into interview =( I'm so depressed now. Desperate for a full time work!
On a side note, I'll be volunteering at Myer tomorrow.
I already forgot the appropriate techniques to wrap a present. LOL. Well, I hope I could recall it tomorrow and enjoy my day=) First time of volunteering! Yay!

Bits and pieces

He is an explorer who collects badges to become a senior explorer. He had only one badge left to achieve his senior position. Apparently, the last task for the badge is to assist an elderly person. So he approached an old man called Carl to offer his help...

But this old man is quite mean and nasty. He rejected his offer. However, it never failed Russell's determination to ask him again. You gotta watch the movies to see the rest! Ahh..he is just too cute!
**************************************************************************
Some updates...
1) Accessed my uni results last night...I passed with 2 distinctions and 1 credit... I could have achieve all three distinctions but the lecturer was so mean that he gave me 69% instead of 70% in one of the subject. So, apparently, 69% = Credit and 70% = Distinction..The only 1 mark made a huge difference.. Damn...Mean people are always mean!
2) Went for a health examination few days ago for PR application.. I had a full body check, blood test and chest X-ray. With the blood test, I told the nurse about the bad bruise I had few months ago as a result of my blood being sucked without applying any alcohol to kill bacterias and that I didn't want the bruise again. He assured me that there will be no bruise after my blood is taken. He was so professional and efficient that I didn't feel any pain in the process and the most important, there was no bruise left on my arm... Oh..I also have to undertake the urine test twice..aaghh...I hate urine test!.. It's just too hard to take a urine sample from a girl.... And also, knowing that a sample need to be taken make me nervous and the urine didn't want to come out even though I have forced it.. I hope I won't have to take any urine test anymore in the future -_____-
3) I signed up for a volunteer work last month. It is a Christmas gift wrapping volunteering work at Myer, organised by Vision Australia. I will be volunteering on 13th, 14th and 17th Dec... I went for a training session last week and it was fun! The supervisor was so friendly and taught us the techniques to wrap presents... It was not as hard as I thought it will be... Am so looking forward for the day!
4) Feel so good to work with my ex-boss again... He is kind, humble and funny as usual. I didn't feel any stress at all while working in his centre. The workload is not as heavy as I have with my current boss. I was working with him last year but got transferred to his wife's centre.. Don't get me wrong. I'm happy to work in his wife's centre, just that it is understaff there and more work to do... You know, ladies tend to be more fussy and have higher expectation... Ah well, I couldn't complain much because I'm already lucky to have a part time job...what can I ask for?
For now, I just have to wait for Friday for the other results to be released *double finger-crossed*

Rants
By the way, I met a group of tram inspectors last night while me and my sister wanted to get off from the tram. One of the inspectors stopped us from getting off and ordered us to show our validated ticket. Damn annoying, I just want to slap on the inspector's f*cking face. The way he asked us, as if we didn't buy tickets and trying to escape from tram...When I handed my ticket to him, he checked very carefully and nearly poked his eyes on the ticket, hoping that it was not validated and hence, could fine me.... I'm sorry but I ALWAYS VALIDATE DAMN METCARD lor.... you think so easy to saman me meh?
Mentioning about metcard reminded me a news about a man who got fined because his prepaid metcard was not validated due to the faulty validating machine.... Apparently, the man couldn't validate his ticket because the machine wouldn't allow him to do so ... Why on earth he need to be fined? Irritating enough, the inspector argued that he shouldn't board on tram if he did not have validated ticket. He should either bought another ticket on tram or get off...the point is, he got a ticket but couldn't use it because of the faulty machine... I really want to smack all the inspectors lor... So f*ucking du lan them!
************************************************************************************
I don't know if it's just me or what, but I found people from Middle East stink!!!! Every single person from the countries especially the black indians! Their body odour smelled even worse than rotten curries... I don't know how they can stand lor... Yesterday, there was a keling sitting next to me in the cinema..damn it... he smelled so terrible and it was so unbearable... I have to cover my nose from time to time while watching 2012 ....so no syiok at all!!! For those who have watched 2012 would know that the scenes were very criticial and intensed.. I was so into the scenes when suddenly I smelled the odour again... on and off.... f*cking pissed off...It was surprising that the number of indians and people from Middle East in Melbourne grow tremendously over the past few years. I remember during my first year stay here, I hardly seen any indians around the city....that was back in 2003.. and then, what happen now is, they can be seen almost everywhere in the city... The most obvious one is, the BIG W's cashiers are all Indians...all blacks... i'm like woooaahhhh *mouth opened* Are they cheap labours or what? I know I sound racist, but I just couldn't bear it...
OK...enough of rant...I'm feeling much better now... back to series....i watched 10 times and can memorise already...ah..what to do... ciao!

Short one
2012 is the best of all the movies that I've watched for the year. Glued my eyes to the screen all the way through the session...too stunned and I actually felt touched when the people try so hard to live but still have to die in the end. There were no way they can escape from the disaster!
Is the world going to end soon?

Moment of wonder

Picture taken on the 30th October 2008 when I obtained Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting and Finance) from Monash University (Clayton Campus).
Browsing through my graduation photo made me think of the meaning of receiving a degree from one of the well-known universities in Australia.
Does it mean that I'm very successful in my life after obtaining my degree?
Does it mean that I can get a good job?
Does it mean that I don't have to worry about job hunting and that I can be offered a job right after I send in my first job application?
Does it mean that I can apply all the knowledge and skills that I've gained from uni into workplace when writing my resume?
Why do I still need to go to uni when it's hard to get a job eventhough I have graduated ?
So many things to worry........So little things that can be accomplished......

Cupcakes
I never buy cupcakes since then..
Until last few days, my sister told me there is this small cupcakes boutique at QV.
Apparently, the name of the boutique is "The Cupcake Family".
This is what it looks like when the box is opened.
These mouth-watering cupcakes look so yummy, tasty and beautiful!
I ate three of the cupcakes - vanilla strawberry, coffee and orange almond while my sister ate the green tea one.
The cupcakes were indeed yummy and not too sweet ! I definitely will go there to try another range of flavours.

BURNING HOTT!!!
BURNING HOT HOT HOT !!!!!!!!!!!
I asked one of the kids (cute little Joseph) at my workplace if he felt warm today...
He replied, "It is not warm... But it's BURNING HOT!! "
Hahaa... see...melbourne's weather can be that extreme.. even the locals felt that burnt on their skin.
Please bare with me because it was over 30 degrees in a row and the place I'm staying sucks a lot!
No aircon and the heat was trapped in the room making it like oven..
I only have the small fan to cool me down but apparently, it is useless, because I only get hot air..
Arrrghhh~~!!!

I just received my IELTS confirmation letter.. My speaking test is scheduled on this coming Sunday, the 15th... so soon..not ready yet!

Weather sucks, study sucks, the sun sucks, the heat sucks, the apt sucks..skin sucks..everything sucks!!! dying..
I had this rashes since yesterday morning...hate the heat that caused this. Was ok yesterday, only patches of red spots without feeling anything..but getting worse this morning, itchy all over my body...damn it!
I went to the chemist and the pharmacist prescribed a cream to be applied on the infected area. It didn't help much unfortunately. So I went to the other chemist in the city today and the shop assistant gave me allergy pills. I popped one tablet into my mouth and felt drowsy then. I felt so sleepy that I ending up having my afternoon sleep at home ....My home is like oven to me... hate it..I want to move out to an air-conditioned apt!!
Hope the weather can cool down a bit... pleaseeeeeee~~~~~~~~

Blogs or ads?
The origin concept of 'blog' had changed over the past few years.
Blogs nowadays have their own themes, ranging from foods, fashions, entertainments, parenting, etc etc etc.
There are even blog awards for those who kept the most stunning blog entries... They do it like the hollywood red carpet thing.
Not to mention companies placing their ads on blogs or organising competitions to bloggers who are able to promote their products in the most creative ways.
Most of the bloggers put in their efforts to win the competitions or being nominated awards to become popular.
I mean what's the point of having a blog for advertorials and awards? So sick of it..
The point I am trying to make here is, a blog is supposed to be the little diary that you kept once a upon a time when you were young.
No ads, no awards, no what-so-ever. Just pure thoughts.
Sigh, maybe I'm still not up-to the blog trends nowadays..
But still.....

Stalkers
He disagreed with me and thought it was gross.
One of his reason was because many of her girl classmates freaked out (as in <3 him too much) whenever they saw Twilight's main actor (the vampire) on the tv or posters.
Then he sent me this poster which I think is very funny.

Have a good laugh!
Wonder why the author has the idea of vampire watching human sleeping at night O.O

Melbourne Cup Day

Don't you think it is cute??? Do u know what's the meaning behind these? Gorgeous ladies hats on top of the letters...
It's the Melbourne Cup day today! Melbourne Cup day is a horse racing day. It is one of the famous horse races in the world. Since 1877, the Cup Day has been a public holiday for Melbourne, and crowds have flocked to the tracks to watch the races and possibly gamble =)
Nothing special for me because I stay at home to rest since my whole body muscles ache.. I've no idea what's wrong..it is most likely due to the extreme heat over the past few days -______-
Happy holiday, Melbournians!

The big day
On the day, the alarm clock rang at 6.15am and I woke up without hesitation.
I went straight to the bathroom and had my early shower.
Then, I ate kaya bread and drank a cup of instant nescafe for breakfast. It was only 7am when I finished them.
I tried to do the last minute revision but my brain couldn't absorb any info... i was so nervous when I stared at the thick pile of CPA notes.
I couldn't stand it anymore so I decided to leave the house early. I took the 7.30am tram to Bourke Street and manage to catch another tram from Bourke Street to Southern Cross Station.
I reached the station at around 8am. Since I still have another hour or so before the exam, I tucked my bag of CPA file and handbook to DFO to study.
Unfortunately, I was too early and I was not allowed to enter the mall.
So I went to a cafe nearby to use the table for study. I ordered a cup of cappucino (second cup of coffee) because I thought it was not nice to use the seat without any food order.
Cappucino and one of the CPA pages on the bottom. I was on audit judgement that time and it did come out in the exam..^^
After having the cup of cappucino, my stomach felt very weird. I knew what's the sign was, so I ran into the washroom at DFO. Luckily, the door was opened already.
It was about the time to go to the exam hall at Telstra Dome after carrying out the toilet business.
CPA exam in Limelight Room
I reckon there were not many candidates sitting for the audit paper compared to my last semester's paper.
I didn't bother to read anything before entering the room.
It was 10 minutes after 9 when the invigilator invited us to enter the room with mobile phone switched off.
I read through the questions during reading time and started to panic because the first few questions were tough. I have no idea what the question was about.
Luckily, I got the idea how to answer. After the reading time, I began to write the answer. The time passed so fast that I thought I 've only spent an hour on the exam.
Fighting!!!

Thais
The other day, while I was thinking what to eat for dinner, my sister suggested thai cuisine at Ying Thai. So, off we go to Ying Thai Restaurant at Lygon St. There were quite a number of people already when we reached there. I heard the foods are so famous that we could hardly get a table if we go around 7 - 8pm.
The dishes we ate for that evening ...
......

.......
Chicken Tom Yum
There were only few pieces of chicken and mushroom that came with the tomyum soup...quite disappointing..and the soup was a little bit too sour for me.
Seafood Green Curry
The Green Curry was served with squids, artificial crab meats (usually used for steamboats), prawns, red capsicum and greens.
Again, the portion was too small that I could count how many pieces of seafoods on the dish. I don't think it was really a seafood dish, so uncomparable to the fresh variety of seafoods in my hometown.
Thai Basil Chicken
This minced chicken was good. It went well with my steamed rice.. I love how the spicy basil flavour tempted me to crave for more...
Pandan Chicken
These little pandan chickens look like chinese dumplings... Don't be fooled by the appearance because the chicken inside the leave was so tiny that it was only a bite away. It didn't taste as 'pandan' as I would expected..i thought it was just a normal tiny piece of stir-fried chicken wrapped in pandan leaves.
Overall, I would rate the foods as average only. The portion of the foods were not generous and not worth the prices I paid for.

Confused
Though it is an open-book exam, I'm still worried if I can flip through the pages to find for answers in a limited amount of time. I must at least remember the basic concepts without having to search for answers for every questions.
What I can do now is to hope for the best and finish revising the remaining modules, review all the SAT's questions and briefly go through all the modules again before the actual day....
Dear, God, please guide me through *finger-crossed*
